Casual Dress Ideas For the Beach Wedding

Wedding planning entails looking over at least a thousand of details about the event. Because there are so many things to plan, one can easily miss out small important details. However, one aspect of the event that can never be overlooked is of course, the bride’s wedding gown.

Typical wedding gowns mean elaborate fabrics, intricate designs and a long train. But if you want to have a casual wedding like a beach wedding for example, it is all right to don a simpler wedding dress and surely, it will still make you look beautiful and elegant.

If you do not have any idea on casual wedding dresses, here are some ideas you can use for your beach wedding.

  • Sundress

A cotton or linen sundress is the perfect beach wedding gown as it speaks of comfort, ease, and freedom that the ambience of the beach exudes. The great thing about this dress is that it does not trap heat and moisture in the fabric, which is great especially because the atmosphere at the beach is humid. Moreover, the bride is also able to move freely with this kind of dress.

  • Suit

For most brides, they think this option is not so lady-like but still there are a growing number of women wanting to get married in a suit, whether it is a pantsuit or a Jackie O style suit. Comfort and confidence are the qualities that a suit spells.

  • Maxi-dress

Maxi-dresses are fun and whimsical just like the atmosphere at the beach. You can opt for a knee-length or floor-length maxi dress and choose between white and cream.

  • Strapless or spaghetti strapped dress

Strapless and spaghetti strapped dresses look flattering in almost every type of figure. They are also elegant, beautiful and comfortable. It is no wonder many brides getting married with a beach theme prefer this type of dress.

·         Bikini top and sarong

If you are on the conservative side, you probably will not go with this option. But if you are daring and you love to wear bikinis, you may want to consider this idea. Just be careful since there are some ceremonies that do not allow such attire.

  • Other options include halter dress, sleeveless v-neck dress, dress with sweetheart neckline, ankle length dress, tea length dress and knee-length dress.

Tips on Choosing Beach Wedding Dress

  1. Go for colors that complement the beach. Yes, you can have a white dress for your wedding to have that traditional feel. But you also add touches of other colors such as blue, cream, tan, or brown that also complement the beach scene.
  2. Leave those shoes behind. Instead of fussing at which pair of shoes to wear in your beach wedding, consider the idea of going barefooted. You would love the feel of cool sand squishing between your toes while you make the momentous walk down the aisle, plus you save money from skipping an expensive pair of shoes. Not to mention, being shoe-less also means comfort and freedom.
  3. Check the temperature of the area. If the wedding location is humid, go for fabrics that can let you breathe. If the area is a little windy, get something to wrap you up.

Getting married on the beach can be both fun and challenging. So is choosing a beach wedding dress. With the line-up of ideas in this article, you will have a less difficult time choosing the right dress for your memorable beach wedding event.

Cascading Wedding Boquet??

I have decided I would like a cascading wedding boquet. I am trying to figure out what I want the flourist to put in it though. We are having a beach wedding. My bridesmaids dresses are a pastel yellow, however I don’t know if I want an all white boquet or if I should work some tropical colors into it. I also don’t know what sort of flowers I should use in it. I am thinking some large lillies, I also really like orchids, and may have a few orchids in my hair. Anyone who may have a picture of one they loved or their own that they were really proud of or suggestions for me would be great! Thanks a lot! :)

Orchids are lovely for a cascading bouquet. With your bridesmaids dresses, I would go for some tropical colours in the bouquet, it will look lovely. Talk to your florist – mine was so helpful in telling me what flowers would go best with the idea I had for the flowers. You know the shape you want, once you have decided on colour and signature flower (I think orchids would be nice) then the florist can tell you what else would go with it.

Tips on transporting a wedding cake from VA to NC for a wedding.?

Im getting married in manteo NC witch is about 2 hours from Virginia Beach were i will be coming from. I am making my own cake but dont know how to get it down there without it going bad. i will be using buttercream and cream fillings and will be taking a very large cooler with me. any sugestions? thanks
the cake is a three teired. the bottom teir is a chocolate butter rum with bulvaren cream filling, the middle teir is a ginger cake with a white chocolate and maple filling and the top will be a spice cake with an apple turnover filling. i was planing on travel with them dissasembled in a cooler and they will have been frozen before hand. is there anything else i need to be thinking about?

Cakes are too fragile to transport like that. You need to assemble it when you arrive at your destination. Condensation in an ice chest could quickly ruin the icing and you would have a nasty, runny mess on arrival.

Tiaras: Now You Can Feel Like a Princess on Your Big Day

Centuries ago tiaras were worn only by the very rich or by royalty. They were meant to symbolize wealth, prosperity, and regality. Princesses, queens, and duchesses wore them at state dinners and other official functions.

Actually, they probably wore them all the time. Wear a tiara to breakfast. Wear one to the market. Wear it just lounging around the castle. If you are royalty, why not revel in it?

The flip side of the coin is that historically there were not a whole lot of opportunities for the average woman to wear a tiara. Even today, unless you are Wonder Woman or the winner of a beauty pageant, you probably aren’t going to be wearing a tiara too often. Sure, there will be big occasions in your life. But can you imagine accepting a Pulitzer Prize while wearing a tiara? People would think you were insane.

There is one occasion, however, when it is perfectly normal for a woman to wear a tiara. That is, of course, on her wedding day. It is the one day of a woman’s life when it isn’t just acceptable for her to look and feel like a princess, it is expected. Here are a few examples of gorgeous tiaras that will make your big day all the more special.

The Crystal and Pearl Tiara is a gorgeous piece that will make a striking impact on your wedding guests. Flower shapes rise from the base of the tiara and are highlighted by glimmering crystals and finely polished pearls. It is truly a headpiece built for a queen.

If you are looking for a more dense and complex look, you can’t go wrong with the Crystal Open Back Tiara. Rhinestones, pearls, and crystals seem to explode from the silver base of this tiara, giving them the appearance of bubbles rising from the bottom of the ocean.

The rhinestone floral motif featured on the Embellished Mid Crystal Rhinestone Floral Tiara is so intricate that it almost resembles a complex script font. Pearls and pave leaves intermingle throughout a glimmering array of rhinestones and crystals to form a pattern you could get lost inside of.

Queen Elizabeth II was said to possess the world’s most extensive and expensive collection of tiaras. The Mid Tiara Embellished with Beads and Crystals is gorgeous enough to fit right in with the rest of her collection. The construction appears delicate and decisively formal. Beads and crystals cluster together in the front while shimmering strands seem to burst from the center like solar flares on the surface of the sun.

The main feature of the Embellished Tiara with Crystal Swirl Motif and Oval Stones is the wave-like swirls that rise up all around it. Wearing this tiara at a wedding on the beach will make a bride feel like a goddess of the sea. It also features three large oval crystal stones. One of them sits at the top center of the tiara while the other two are slightly lower and on the sides.

The Tall Silver Tiara with Metal Scroll, Rhinestones, and Pearls is a dramatic headpiece that is sure to stand out. It goes well with a more subdued hairstyle because of the strong impression that it makes. If you don’t feel like spending hours on your hair on your wedding day, it is easy to let this tiara do all the heavy lifting for you.

Many brides think that tiaras only pair well with an updo and other short or pulled-back styles. This really just depends on the tiara you are wearing though. The Gold Brushed Metal Tiara with Rhinestones has an earthy floral motif that looks unbelievable when it rests on long, flowing locks of hair. Matched with a simple and fashionable dress, it makes a bride look more like an ethereal medieval princess.

The Brushed Metallic Leaf Tiara is another one that hearkens back to the golden age of tiaras. It has a simple and classic pattern of soft gold interspersed with rhinestones and freshwater pearls. It measures 14 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ by 1 1/4″.

Before we mentioned that there are not many occasions for a woman to wear a tiara. This is true, but the Crystal Tiara becomes a Necklace defies that rule. On your wedding day this is a gorgeous low and subtle crystal tiara. It adds a dash of sparkle but it won’t outshine your hairdo or your dress. However, rather than being a one-time thing, this tiara transforms into a lovely necklace so it can be worn again and again to special occasions long after your big day.

The fact remains, however, that tiara opportunities are few and far between. Outside of your super sweet 16 party and your Sailor Moon Halloween costume, the odds of finding a good excuse to wear a tiara are pretty slim. A woman’s wedding day is one of the few opportunities in her life to really live it up and feel like a princess. A tiara is a simple and elegant way to help do that.

Not satisfied with hairstyle I chose and wedding is a week away!!! Will give 10pts to person who gives me styl?

I originally chose a simple side ponytail with all my hair curly(which it usually is anyway) I loved the style in theory but today I noticed how round it makes my face look and I don’t like it anymore. I have a week to come up with a new hairstyle. Please help? Its a beach wedding at 5pm. I have long curly red hair that will do pretty much anything. I have freshwater pearl dangling earrings. This is my dress

I have no hair accessories at the moment. I know I shouldn’t be changing it at the last minute but it’s my wedding and I want to look perfect. I will say I don’t like extremely intricate updos and they wouldn’t really go with the theme. Suggestions and pictures please? Will give 10pts to person who gives me style I like best

this is me

The style I would have chosen for the dress is the one you described. Are you sure you can’t tweak it to make it suit your face better. For example have a few whispy curls falling down on your face to soften the look? Failing this, I’d go for something like the model in the photo. Loose curls falling to one side. Are you sure you are not just starting to panic a bit? Try taking photos of yourself with the hair done. It may look better than you think. Good luck. Stunning dress btw.

Beach Wedding Ideas????

I need some help w/ wedding ideas for a beach themed wedding. I don’t want anything amazing or expensive. I am just wondering what kind of food, entertainment, tent or no tent, flowers….just any ideas that come w/ planning a wedding. I’m a little overwhelmed. Thanks! Wedding is in July by the way. I already have invitations, my dress, and my wedding arch. Colors are pink and green.

Are you going for a theme that is like a Hawaiian beach wedding? Sometimes that will make a difference. If you are going to go with the Hawaiian theme there are lots of fun things you can do…and that go with your colors.
For the food you can have something roasting on a spit. Some bbq chicken, seafood (since you want a beach theme), fresh fruits, salads, etc. You can try to google some Hawaiian Catering Menu’s or Beach Catering Menu’s…it helps to go on different catering sites to get some good ideas about food.

I personally think that the tents look beautiful, and I think it is nicer for the guests. I can get quite breezy on the beach. I think a tent like this one would be lovely; I love the way they set everything up in this picture:

For the flowers, you could do something like this bouquet of pink mini callas, tulips and roses…

Or Pink roses, alstromeria, green hypericum berries

I hope that this helps. I would definitely think about going with the Hawaiian theme beach wedding though. Your colors are really perfect for it.
