Beach Weddings – From Planning to Wedding Perfection

Many young brides and grooms are now more open to travel and having non-traditional marriages. Beach weddings are among the popular choices these days. Marriage ceremonies nowadays veer away from tradition and are now more about showing off the personalities of the bride and the groom. This makes the details of such marriages more interesting

Beach weddings and its dreams

Beach weddings are often destination marriages. The planning stage really entails a lot of time, effort and great attention to detail.

Beach weddings start with bagging the perfect location. It is important that brides and grooms discuss this in full detail. Some points to consider when going for beach weddings are the distance that the guests have to travel. It is a good idea to send notices of the marriage ceremony in advance. It is important to consider if guests will be willing to travel at all to the beach destination.

Welcome baskets filled with useful tokens such as slippers, toiletries add a warm, personalized touch and will make the guests feel really special. Not only do these little things add to the excitement of the occasion, they will help the marriage guests feel how much the bride and the groom love and appreciate how all the guests went out of their way just to help the couple celebrate their special day and that the time and effort they spent is so much worth it.

Non-Traditional, Tropical Ceremony

For beach weddings, ceremonies are usually non-traditional and more laid-back than having marriages done in churches or hotels. Couples may want to consider whether they would want to fly in their favorite minister or priest that they’ve known since their childhood. Couples should decide this early on the planning stage because this is one of the most important details of the marriage.

Local Marriage Ceremony suppliers

For the other details of the marriage such as the setup, the flowers and the food, it is always wiser to go with whatever the destination has on hand. This is to avoid spoilage, avoid bigger costs due to having to ship supplies from one place to another, cancellations, and the non-appearance of suppliers. This is very true when it comes to choices for food and flowers. There are flowers that grow only on certain places and under certain weather conditions. The sooner the bride and groom come to terms with this reality the better they will be able to plan. If the bride prefers to have her makeup done by somebody in particular, it is important to book the supplier in advance and inform the makeup artist that the marriage is to be held at a faraway destination. It is important to discuss details such as travel expenses and other important matters.

For beach weddings or all destination marriages for that matter, learning to compromise is key. This is especially true when holding marriages at faraway exotic locations. There might be some details that are just not doable, impossible or not available. The bride and groom will have to realize that not everything is under their control and no matter how well beach weddings are planned, sometimes, things don’t always turn out the way they are expected to.

How do I have my wedding ceremony on the beach?

My fiance and I want to get married on the beach and need some tips on how to go about this, considering Orange County beaches are public. We don’t care that there might be people, not part of our wedding, walking around, but we would like to bring an arch and some chairs. We would also like to specify a lifeguard station number to our guests.

We have about 40-50 guests.

Any ideas?

You need to contact the beach commission or county parks department. They may have restrictions on locations and also may require permits. Some beaches do limit whether you can bring an arch and chairs.

Here may be somewhere to start: http://www.ocparks.com/coastalparks/

Congratulations and best wishes.
