Beach Wedding Unity Candles

How Candles Can Be Used To Enhance Your Wedding

Somehow candles and romance just seem to go together. When the two of you were dating there was probably a romantic candlelit dinner or two, not to mention all those times you snuggled together listening to music with only the soft glow of the candle in the room. It seems only natural that candles should be a part of the most romantic day of your life. Your wedding.

There are many ways candles can be used to bring romance to your wedding day. They can create just the right atmosphere that you want on that special day. Candles play an important part of most wedding services these days as the couple usually lights a unity candle to show that they are two entities joining to be one. Why not take the use of candles in your wedding service one step further and have a candlelit ceremony.

Placing candles in just the right places in the church will cast a warm romantic glow over the entire ceremony. Speak to your pastor more often than not he will endorse the whole idea. While candlelit ceremonies in churches can be beautiful they add an extra touch to home weddings as well.

Using candles for your wedding service provides an extra feeling of warmth for those winter weddings casting a warm glow that just seems to warm up the entire church and reception as well. There is just something about stepping in out of the snow into a candlelit room that makes everyone feel a warm glow in their hearts.

The Reception

Unless there are fire regulations forbidding their use, candles can be used as an inexpensive and romantic way to decorate the reception hall. They make wonderful centerpieces by themselves, in lanterns, and combined with floral arrangements. Placing three or four pillar candles on mirrors and scattering flowers around the table gives the reception tables an especially romantic and festive air.

Candle lanterns can add an old fashioned air to your traditional wedding reception as well. There are many small candle lanterns in brass, copper, and even cast iron to choose from to give your wedding tables a unique look. There are even some great candles with seashells right in the candle that can enhance a Beach Wedding Theme.

Be sure to carry your candle theme beyond the reception tables themselves. If your wedding feast is buffet style a couple of candle hurricane lanterns placed on the food table will add a nice touch as well as one with your guest book. Although they look and smell great do avoid candles in bathrooms as gauzy sleeves may make such placement a fire hazard.

Wedding Favors

Candles make ideal wedding favors as well. You can choose from tea candles in unique holders, to small pillar and jar candles that the guests can take home with them sharing a little of this most romantic evening. You can give a simple favor by stacking two or three tea candles inside an organza bag and tying it with a pretty ribbon, or a more elegant favor that features a candle and holder in an already boxed set.

Your wedding is the most romantic day of your life, and candles can help express all that romance inexpensively and beautifully.

Your Wedding Ceremony?

When it comes to your wedding services alone, nobody wants to spend an arm and a leg on this and still have to foot the bill for the reception. Really it depends on where you want to your wedding to be and what type of service that you are hoping to have.

There is a way to satisfy all types of weddings as long as you know what your options are. Let’s take a look at the different types of ceremonies that you can choose from that can save you a great deal of money.

Church Ceremony

When you want your ceremony to be in a church, you will often have to pay for the rental and the priest or minister to perform the ceremony.

Some churches will decorate for you while others will not. If this is an issue, be sure to ask first. How much money you will pay for the ceremony will vary and will depend on how the policies of the church.

Here are some tips on how you can save money on a church ceremony.

• Look for a church that offers complete services or all inclusive packages rather than separate fees
• Try to bargain deals for outdoor weddings
• Rent the church alone and hire your own minister
• Have your services on a day where there are no church services because it may be cheaper
• Decorate the church yourself
• Offer to volunteer at the church for awhile in exchange for a discount
• You can save some money by hosting your ceremony in the church basement rather than in the worship center.
• Churches will often offer more inexpensive prices if you are a member of the church.

Outdoor Ceremony

You can save a great deal of money by hosting your ceremony outside like in a beautiful park, at the beach, on a hilltop or even in your yard.

Of course, having the ceremony in your backyard is the cheapest. Here are some of the formalities that go with having an outdoor ceremony that can save you money all around.

• The best way is to have the service in your backyard
• Choose an open public forum that does not generally have a great deal of people trying to access it, and get the right permits etc. beforehand
• Opting for an ordained minister rather than a priest etc. is often cheaper. Just be sure to check that whoever you choose can legally perform wedding ceremonies in your area.
• You can forego the chairs and have the guests standing as long as you host a short ceremony. A nice white or themed linen on the ground for guests to stand on is an elegant touch
• When going with outdoor ceremony, people often opt for the portable arch because it is easy to transport and just as elegant
• Of course, you can always host your ceremony at city hall and save your money for the reception. Record the ceremony and host a viewing during the reception

Outdoor ceremonies open the door to many themes that can greatly reduce the cost of your wedding and reception. Hawaiian themes and beach themes can help you save money on formal wear, and decorations etc. because people having an outdoor wedding are often casually or island dressed.

It makes the ceremony more comfortable for the guests too because they are also dressed casually.

Outdoor ceremonies can immediately switch from ceremony to reception which saves some extra money on travel fees too, such as limos etc. The Hawaiian theme will be a great way to have a luau or pig roast reception.

You might want to consider a theme that lets you have a picnic for your reception party or a beach party or bonfire, but I will get into themes in more detail in a later section.

All of these tips were designed to help you find deals and discounts. You can also choose to have your ceremony at a courthouse or city hall building; record the services and play the recording during your reception instead. It is a nice way to share your vows with your friends and family without spending a fortune on the ceremony.

Wedding Chapel

When most people think of wedding chapels they think of Las Vegas style chapels, but that is not all that chapels are. If you are a religious person, it is very easy to solve the question of a wedding chapel because you can choose to get married in your usual place of worship.

This may be a church, synagogue, mosque or other religious temple. However, if you have not had a religious upbringing, are marrying someone of a different religion or culture, or simply would rather select a different venue, it is important to discover what wedding chapel options are open to you.

If you would still like a ceremony in the style of a particular religion, most chapels have a host of different officiates who can provide the appropriate wedding ceremony to suit your own specific needs.

The majority of wedding chapels are designed in the style of churches. Most couples seek this traditional type of scene, even if they do want a non-denominational ceremony.

Chapels advertise features, such as stained glass windows, oak flooring, historical buildings, chandeliers and more. If you would prefer a modern building, it is possible to find chapels that are less traditional, such as those that are located in art galleries but you will need to research them well if you want to get a good deal.

Wedding chapels come in various sizes, and you must calculate how many guests will require seating at your wedding before committing to a particular chapel.

The majority of chapels seat between a hundred and a hundred and fifty guests, but there is one to suit every size of wedding. In Las Vegas, for example, there are chapels just large enough for the Bride, Groom, officiate and witness.

The location of your wedding chapel is key. There are numerous choices in cities and towns, but you may opt for a more natural or dramatic position. There are wedding chapels located anywhere from the Smoky Mountains to Hawaiian beaches, from Lake Tahoe to Disneyland!

If you have connections to the military, you could consider holding your wedding in a military chapel on a military base. There are long waiting lists for these facilities, but they are usually free (except a charitable donation).

Some facilities offer a choice of chapel depending on your religion, and it is possible to find Protestant, Catholic and Jewish chapels. However, there may be restrictions on decoration or numbers of guests.

There is also a vast array of novelty, or themed, wedding chapels springing up everywhere these days. The first themed chapels originated in Las Vegas, but it is now possible to find outlandish chapel designs anywhere.

Aside from the ubiquitous Elvis chapels, there are options such as a neon wedding at the luminous chapel in New Orleans, or a Cowboy chapel in Nevada. Try to incorporate the theme into other aspects of your wedding, such as your attire, the music and food. Some chapels even supply costumes for the guests which can really make your day a great deal of fun.

Modern Weddings Are Based Upon Customization

Modern wedding planning trends are based upon “customization.” You will want to first decide upon a theme for your wedding. Consider the following 5 reception themes as a start:

• Garden Weddings
• Country Weddings
• Moroccan weddings
• Asian-Style weddings
• Beach weddings

For garden weddings you might use illustrated seed packets to mark tables, cover a table with cool green moss and decorate with small potted herbs.

Country wedding themes could include serving your guests with hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks during dessert and sending your guests home with gifts of mason jars filled with peach preserves.

Moroccan wedding themes may include filling wicker baskets with fruit pates and exotic candy. Decorate with hanging colored-glass lanterns.

Beach weddings – decorate with fish bowls filled with water and floating candles.

Other ideas for your customized wedding may include:

•Send out your invitations in picture frames
•Have a candlelit dessert reception
•Greet your guests with welcome baskets

Welcome baskets have now become a big part of the wedding weekend. Be creative. Think about what makes your town unique. Gather contents early and order containers. Label each basket with the guests’ names and them a basket in their hotel rooms.
Examples of welcome baskets might include:

•Gourmet baskets filled with wine, cheese, biscuits and a corkscrew
•A beach tote with lip balm, sunscreen, flip flops

Planning a wedding can be one of the most time-consuming and “expensive” tasks there are. One way to help you cut costs is to use easy-to-print wedding invitation kits. These kits usually contain about 25 invitations, 50 fold over note cards and coordinating envelopes and available in several different designs. The kits come with step-by-step easy to follow instructions.

Resources online are Masterpiece Studios, and refer to their etiquette guidelines and product templates to help you create invitations that have proper wording and perfect layouts. They also can provide you with matching bulletins, place cards, programs, and stationery.

The most traditional type of a wedding invitation is:

•A vertically folded sheet today measures 5 1/8″ X 7 ¼” most common, which signals a formal occasion
•The most traditional engraving style in America is English Script. Antique Roman is also very popular.

How about something not so traditional?

Especially for the Indian bride is a new way to announce wedding news online at http://iWedCards.com. This is the first interactive multimedia Indian wedding card experience. The collection features interactive invitations with vibrant designs and stunning animation even with traditional Indian music.

If family and friends live all over the globe, traditional paper cards are not always the easiest, fastest or most cost-effective way to reach those you wish to attend your wedding.

Although the iWedCards.com invitation collection is inspired by Hindu traditions, brides and grooms from any culture looking for something different, something cool, or a new and funky way to announce their upcoming marriage are encouraged to take a look at these magically entertaining cards.

Bridesmaids gifts for beach wedding?

Hi,
I have 6 bridesmaids for my October beach wedding. I have three shades of blue as my colors and two girls will wear a color. I was thinking of giving pashmina wraps as gifts since it will probably get chilly out. I was wondering what color to get since they will be in three different shades (a light pool blue, a medium tropical blue, and a deeper marine blue). I thought white at first but I think that would look too stark with all the dresses. I also thought about doing a contrasting blue (so the girls wearing light blue would get dark blue wraps) but I am not sure what to do about the medium blue dresses. Help! Maybe someone has a better suggestion for gifts or is good with colors. PS i do not want to get beach totes! Thanks!

Why not a pearl? Pearls and beaches go hand in hand, and they can wear them at the wedding. A single pearl necklace is relatively inexpensive (get a sterling chain if you want to cut costs), and timeless. http://www.asinglepearlnecklace.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/single-pearl-necklace-and-pearl-earrings.jpg

As for the blues…I’m not sure of your color theme, but creme may work better than white (it won’t be as stark). Yellow is opposite blue on the color wheel, meaning it compliments blue nicely. You could find shades of yellow or gold that work well with your other colors. Brown and tan will also go with blues, as will the right gray.

If you still want to keep the theme beachy, you can get monogrammed beach towels with your ladies’ initial (first name may be best if they’re not married, as last names are subject to change). They could be blue to match the dress.
