What does “Country Club Attire Required” mean for a wedding?
I have been invited to a close family friend’s wedding. The reception is at a fancy Country Club. The invite says Country Club Attire required. The cocktails and dinner start at 6:30 in the evening. My question is what does Country Club Attire mean? I am use to business causal, garden party, Formal, Semi-Formal, beach front, but this is the first I have seen Country Club.

Clubhouse Attire Guidelines
The following attire is prohibited in the clubhouse for members and their guests age five years and over:
Apparel of any kind that is frayed, cut, stained, ill-fitting and/or soiled
Workout attire
Swimwear, including board shorts, and cover ups
Cargo pants/shorts
Skirts, shorts, skorts, etc. that are shorter than the width of a scorecard (4 1/2”) above the top of the knee, with the exception of proper tennis attire
Untucked shirts, unless designed to be worn in this manner
Tee shirts as well as tank tops for men
Sports jerseys, or any type of apparel with printed phrases or slogans
Halter and tube tops or other types of extreme cut-away tops, including bare midriff
Knit caps and hats with the bill worn backwards (Gentlemen are asked to remove their hat indoors)
Gentlemen are asked to remove their hat when dining, with the exception of the locker room
Shower shoes (flip flops) in dining areas except The Grill Terrace.

Denim attire of any kind
Shorts
Jackets are welcomed for gentlemen on the upper level of the clubhouse.
