Should we write our own vows?

What are alternatives to traditional vows?

First of all, the wedding is yours entirely.  So, if you are more comfortable reciting from a piece of paper, and your significant other is okay with that, then do so.  You would be surprised how common that actually is, especially due to the fact that all brides and grooms get nervous in front of a lot of people.  It would be best to try and memorize your beach wedding vows and attempt to say them without the paper.  This would make it look like it is coming more from your heart and more meaningful.  Keep the paper with you in your pocket as reassurance.  When it comes time for the big moment, you will be able to say it from your heart.
