Will this dress clash with the wedding colors?

I’m the stepmother of the groom.

It’s a beach wedding in Florida in August. I need something casual enough for the beach but formal enough for an evening dinner reception.

The wedding colors are salmon and hot pink. The dress is a blue floral. It comes in gray tones in a different floral print, but I really want something more colorful for a beach wedding.

I’m almost 50 years old.

And I’m short. The dress is 62″ from shoulder to hem, and I’m 61″ from head to toe. I will need to have at least 8″ taken off the hem of the dress.

So I have 3 questions:

1. Will the colors totally clash with the bridesmaid’s dresses?
2. Is it age appropriate?
3. Will it still look as elegant when it’s 8″-10″ shorter?

I think it is the perfect choice. But, just make sure that you have enough support if you know what I mean and I’m not talking emotional. You need something there to make the front hold up or it could look awful. I think it’s perfect for your height. But, I don’t know your build. It needs someone who is not too skinny. It’s definitely age appropriate. If you think the neckline is showing too much cleavage, have it altered because that is a really stylish print. Most of the beach floral dresses out there are far too casual and look more like a Hawaiian Muu muu.
