Crystal Beach Wedding Texas

Texas Wedding….?

I’m wanting to have a beach wedding. But, the only beaches in Texas that I have been to are Crystal Beach, Galveston, and Freeport and they don’t seem like the kind of places that I would want to get married but, idk. In your opinion what are the prettiest beaches in Texas. I’ve heard that S. Padre is gorgeous but it’s over 7 hrs away from where I live and I don’t really think that alot of people will want to drive that far. I live in the Bryan/College Station area. I don’t want my guests to have to drive longer than 4 hours. Also, if you know of any other really beautiful places in Texas to get married. Let me know your opinions.
Thanks!

I discovered Rockport about 5 years ago and was actually impressed with the beach and clear water. It is just north of Corpus and has great places to stay as well. Here is the link to a “beach wedding” planner there. No, I don’t work for them, I just really like Rockport! Not too far from College Station….

Sunset Beach Wedding Oregon

You want to have an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception, to use the fresh beauty of nature as the backdrop for your event, rather than some stuffy banquet room…

Perhaps you want to have more of a “simple” feel to your wedding, or maybe you want to take advantage of some spectacular local scenery. Or maybe you just think it will be great fun to have an outdoor wedding in your parent’s backyard!

Whatever the case, there are a few considerations you need to think about…

The weather!

Of course, the weather is the “biggy” for an outdoor wedding. If you live in an area that experiences inclement weather, you will definitely need to have a back-up option. This means either renting tents or having an indoor option that you could move to at the last minute.

The temperature

If your outdoor wedding will involve celebrating into the night, you will need to consider how chilly the evening air will be for your guests. If you’re worried about the temperature at your outdoor wedding, make sure to tell guests to bring a wrap or jacket. You can also rent heat lamps or even fire pits, depending on the style of your wedding.

On the other hand, if your outdoor wedding will take place during a particularly warm time of year, you may want to consider ways of keeping your guests cool. Make sure there is some sort of shade available for guests on a hot day – whether it’s from trees, tents, or umbrellas!

The ground beneath your feet!

One consideration that couples often overlook when planning an outdoor wedding is the ground. If the ground is gravelled, uneven, or moist lawn (into which high heels can sink!), women will have trouble walking in their high heels. In consideration of your guests, young and old, think about whether the ground is easily navigable in formal wear.

PLUS, if you’re setting up chairs on uneven ground or moist lawn, you’ll have to watch out for wobbly seating!

Dancing

On a similar note, you may need to consider renting a dance floor for an outdoor wedding. Uneven ground, moist lawns, or gravelly, rocky terrain are tough to dance on. Your friends and relatives – especially the elderly ones – will appreciate some attention to the dance floor!

Direction of the sun

If your outdoor wedding will include a ceremony under the noon day sun; saying your vows in the late afternoon; or champagne toasts over speeches at sunset, think for a moment about how the sun will shine on your guests. If guests need to stare into the glare of the sun to try to make out the bride & groom’s silhouettes, you may want to rethink the timing or positioning of the different elements of your event.

Bugs!

Now here’s a topic that doesn’t spring quickly to mind when you’re planning your romantic outdoor wedding in a beautiful natural setting… BUGS! All too many summer evening wedding receptions are plagued by pesky mosquitoes; some parts of the world have an even worse time of it with black flies, wasps, and other nasty critters.

So what can you do to prevent a buggy invasion on your special day? Well, dotting a few citronella candles here and there can’t hurt. Discreetly placing a bottle of bug spray behind a the centrepiece on each table isn’t a bad idea, either! Another great way to keep the bugs at bay during your outdoor wedding is to strategically place a few fans at the perimeter of your reception seating to blow those bugs away.

The unexpected

When you’re having an outdoor wedding, one thing you’ll definitely have to expect is… the unexpected!

Unexpected heat: Will your wedding cake melt in the noonday sun? Will your grandmother get heat stroke?

Unexpected noise: Will a city parade, jet plane air show, traffic jam, or neighbourhood game of kickball create unexpected noise at your event? Ask your neighbours to refrain from using their leaf blowers during your ceremony; consider dropping off event notices around the neighbourhood asking people to respect your event.

Unexpected bad weather: What will you do if the wind picks up and starts blowing everything away? What if a massive thunder and lightning storm decides to roll in just as everyone is sitting down to dinner?

When you have an outdoor wedding, you simply have to be a little more prepared than you would for an indoor event. But it can certainly be worth it! A beautiful garden, a sandy beach, the backyard of a childhood home… all of these outdoor wedding locations can be meaningful, romantic, and spectacularly beautiful.

Of course, another great option is to find a wedding venue that offers an outdoor space – plus an indoor reception area that can be used as your back-up option. Some wedding venues will even set up tents and take care of all the outdoor wedding details FOR you!

Choosing a Wedding Date Among the Four Seasons

Choosing a wedding date depends on many factors. One way of deciding is choosing your favorite season of the year. Each season offers its own style and flavor to a wedding. The time of the year you will get married will surely affect the approach and styles you will apply in planning the wedding of your dreams. This will include selecting the ideal ceremony location, the appropriate flower arrangements and other important aspects of the wedding.

Whatever type of wedding you desire; there will definitely be a season best for you. There is always the possibility of having part of the celebration outside especially if its summer or spring. Just imagine all the moments captured in the wedding videography as you recite your wedding vows against a scenic lake or a snow covered mountain. Just remember to have an alternative plan if ever Mother Nature decides to take control.

There are numerous reasons to get married in autumn. The richest colors are often seen in the fall season. The weather is mild and crisp creating spectacular scenery. Gold and copper theme is what comes into mind during this season. Flowers are rich in colors like purples, yellow and reds. Wedding decorations have an earthy feel around it as the wedding ceremony is ornamented with autumn flowers and wreaths. The wedding decoration can also include apples and pears because these seasonal fruits are available all year round.

A winter wonderland wedding can be the ideal set up for your wedding. It creates an ambiance of romance as snow falls outside during the exchange of wedding vows. This will definitely be an indoor event either in a romantic villa or hotel. The wedding decorations can include red and golden candles with winter blooms of tulips, snowdrops and white geisha. Winter fruits that can be enjoyed are cherries and apricots. Fewer people get married during this season which allows you to get better location choices. Hotels are beautifully decorated for the season, so you will be able to save on that feature but still enjoy a joyful affair. Traditionally, families gather during the holiday which is another benefit in planning your wedding at this time.

June is considered the best month to marry. One reason for this is that this is the first month of predictable good weather. Roses are usually in full bloom during this month. The summer months also mean the sun and the sea. During this time, beach themed weddings are popular. There are many available beach resorts that can make your dream Beach Wedding Ceremony a reality. But getting married in summer can pose a lot of challenges too. Wedding locations and vendors are usually in high demand during these months. It is a good idea to plan every detail and book wedding services ahead of time.

Spring is the time for birth and renewal. This season will provide you with beautiful gardens, abundant with different kinds of roses and blooms. Fruits available for this time of year are peaches and passion fruits. Pastels colors will work best for the whole wedding entourage. Pick colors like lilacs, baby blues, blushing pinkand sandy gold. These magnificent colors of spring will surely be captured in your wedding videography.

Choosing a wedding date on a particular time of the year can definitely set the atmosphere for your wedding whether it may be a winter wonderland or a beach wedding. Just remember that whatever season you choose, it really does not matter as long as you and your fiancé are able to enjoy your special day together.

Is a tropical theme wedding the same as a beach theme wedding? And why?

I really want to believe that they are similar. I need help with this though. When it comes to buying decorations, things can start to run over if you know what I mean…thanks

When I think of a beach theme, I think of lots of beige and blue (the colors of the beach). A tropical wedding is more like a flowering rainforest – all different (bright) colors.

Destination wedding in Jamaica?

I want to get married in Jamaica in Sep 09.Im hoping I dont spend more than $3000. I want to use a resort where its all inclusive. Its going to be me my groom and maybe 5 other people. I want to go to Ocho Rios is Jamaica. Does anyone have an idea of where I can go and the prices without the airplane tickets. Is Jamaica a good place to get married? Me and my fiance wanted something romantic in a beach or garden where we can take beautiful pictures. Then we were going to just have an intimate with our guests and cut a cake. Very simple. Can anyone offer some practical suggestions? Any unique ideas? thanks

Yes, $3000 for the two of you should cover a basic all-inclusive resort & air fare. Barely. But doable.

Check out: http://www.all-inclusive-jamaica.com/

You want to go to a “couples” only instead of an “adult only.” They tend to be much more romantic. However, that could pose a problem for your guests. Most all resorts offer a wedding package.

Couples resorts and Sandals resorts are the biggies and they have resorts in Ochos Rios. There is also Montego Bay. If you don’t care about “couples only” or even “adult only” then you have more choices. All-inclusives are helpful when you are on a budget because there are fewer hidden expenses.

I would def. go to AAA or a REAL PERSON travel agent. They are really helpful. There are tons of all-inclusive’s in Jamaica, and a travel agent can help you weed through all of them.

The Final Details – Don’t Forget the Bridal Lingerie!

So it is your big day. Every detail has been scrutinized. No stone left unturned. You’ve spent weeks, maybe even months, going over every single element of your wedding day from the cake, to the flowers and don’t even get me started on the dress. But don’t make the same mistake of thousands of brides each year and stop the planning at the wedding. Let’s face it. Your big day doesn’t end at the wedding ceremony. In fact, the second most important part of your wedding is the wedding night. And on the day when every woman wants to look her most beautiful, it is imperative that you don’t disappoint when the wedding dress comes off.  The wedding night is traditionally one of the most passionate nights of your life, so why wouldn’t you give your lingerie the same attention as the rest of your wedding details?  If you are a bride-to-be, don’t overlook the significance of Bridal Lingerie. Remember, the wedding day is for you, but the wedding night is often the most anticipated event for the groom.

Don’t get me wrong. I understand that one more thing to have to worry about for your wedding is not necessarily good news. But, don’t get discouraged. Today it is easier than ever to shop for women’s lingerie. The good news is there is a whole industry of innerwear specifically created for use on a wedding day. From extra shaping and support that makes you even more beautiful in your bridal gown to lace and silk to amp up the sex appeal on the night of your wedding, there are so many options to make you look memorable in your wedding gown and out of it. Bridal lingerie is widely available and comes in various sizes, colors, and styles so there is definitely something for everyone. “Just like with your wedding dress, you must try it on to find the lingerie style and fit that is right for you. If there is any time to get it right, your wedding night is it. Go with a trusted source in women’s lingerie and make sure what you choose works with your dress,” explains French lingerie expert, Sidney Vallon of West Palm Beach Bridal Lingerie.

According to Vallon, there are three primary forms of Bridal Lingerie: the basque, corset and the bustier. The basque supports the breasts and has suspenders that reduce the region of the abdomen. The corset is best suited if you are planning to wear a strapless bridal gown. Finally, the bustier has a striking resemblance to the bra but is boned and extended to the waist. Vallon says that some of the most popular style choices at well-known lingerie company, West Palm Beach Bridal Lingerie, are the underwire baby doll, satin jacquard corset, soft net chemise, lace long line bustier and satin lace garter belts.

Popular choices aside, when you are choosing the shape and color of your Bridal Lingerie, you must bear in mind that they are largely dependent on the shape of your body as well as your selected bridal gown. For instance, if you have chosen a backless or halter-style bridal gown, you may want to consider an adhesive bra. If your bridal gown is off-shoulder or strapless, you can opt for the corset type lingerie or the conventional bustier. Other gowns that reveal more skin should be paired with lingerie that has less fabric and is less likely to show. And in this case, size does matter. “Most lingerie dealers today have a good selection of sizes. For example, at West Palm Beach Bridal Lingerie we carry sizes ranging from zero to plus sizes. However, I always recommend my clients try it on, ideally with the wedding gown, to ensure it fits perfectly,” says Vallon.

When you decide to shop for your Bridal Lingerie, make sure you are looking in a store that is not only reputed, but also dedicated completely to women’s innerwear and nightwear.  Such stores usually have staff that is experienced in fit and style and can guide you to the innerwear that will not only fit you perfectly but also suit you well. If possible, you should bring your bridal gown to the store so you can try it on with the lingerie. Try to choose a material that you find comfortable to wear and which does not tear or snag easily as you will more than likely be moving around quite a bit and may be in the innerwear for some time. “It is true that bridal lingerie is usually more expensive than other lingerie, but I know at West Palm Beach Bridal Lingerie we have many options at different price points. Besides, your wedding night is not the time to pinch pennies. What a disappointment to spare no expense for a magical wedding and drop the ball on the wedding night,” claims Vallon.

Inexpensive Honeymoon Vacations to Write Home About

Who says that a luxurious cruise to Tahiti or a Hawaiian destination is a requisite for honeymoon vacations? Your honeymoon should be a quiet romantic time with your newly wedded spouse and it is also a time to relax after months of wedding planning and all the pressure that goes with it. Spending a ton of money on top of all that wedding rigmarole may not be best plan because you are just going to be stressed out about it.

Honeymoon vacations can be quite inexpensive if you and your significant other put your heads together to come up with a game plan. Compile a list of some favorite activities that you like to do alone as well as together as a couple. Next, choose a few places within a few hours of home that you enjoy. Compare the two lists to create another list of possible honeymoon vacations that will mesh both of your favorite things to do and places to go.

Cruising the Wine Country

If you live in California, you can create a driving vacation and visit several vineyards throughout the countryside. Wine honeymoon vacations, while not totally unique, can be planned according to what you want to do and see and there is definitely room for spontaneity. Even Texas has quite a few vineyards, especially in the hill country and they are often surrounded by country cottages and quaint bed and breakfasts that cater to honeymooners.

Italy or France in the off-season also provides some inexpensive honeymoon vacations. Be advised that some tourist attractions will be closed in the off-season; however, there would still be many sights to see and vineyard tours to take.

Adrenaline Pumping Fun

Honeymoon vacations can also be spent in a variety of amusement parks if adrenaline pumping rides is your version of a good time. Disneyland is a favorite destination as are smaller local area amusement parks.

If you live near a beach or large body of water, how about selecting from several honeymoon vacations where water skiing, jet skiing and parasailing are featured options. White water rafting is another great idea for adrenaline junkies on their honeymoon.

Camping Honeymoon Vacations

If you and your significant other enjoy the great outdoors, why not pitch a nice, cozy tent and go camping? There are quite a few state and national parks all over the country with plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking trails, swimming, fishing and nature walks. The solitude of camping is part of the appeal for honeymooners.

If roughing it in tents is a bit too rough, consider renting an RV for a few days or even a rustic cabin on a lake, in the woods or on a mountainside. There are likely plenty of options within a few hours of where you live. You may be close to home but with honeymoon vacations in the ‘wilderness,’ it will seem as if you are miles away from home.

Inexpensive hotels for wedding night in Southern California?

Anything with packages (if thats cheaper)? I want something nice but inexpensive so it wont break into the honeymoon bank. Thanks. (Our wedding/reception will be in Long Beach, if that helps any)

Try Hotel Laguna at Laguna Beach. Its about 30minutes from Long Beach. The Hotel is right next to the water, and located in the midst of the city boardwalk. Their standard room is decent and their is a nice restaurant overlooking the ocean for a nice breakfast. Their hotel rate is actually great also. I believe I paid $100 for a weekend.

If you would like to stay close to Long Beach, the Hilton is a fantastic stay. A little bit more pricey but great stay.

Planning the Perfect Engagement Party

Becoming engaged is a special moment in your life and you are so excited that you want to share your good news with everyone. Engagement party etiquette has changed over the years. Traditionally, the engage party was given by the bride’s parents. Today, there are no set rules; anyone can give an engagement party. You can give the engagement party yourself.

Engagement parties are meant to be fun and a way for everyone from both sides of the families to get to know each other. You want to set the right tone and make sure everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves. You want to make the party fun and something everyone will always remember.

Party Decorations

You will want to make sure you decorate according to the theme you have chosen, such as a beach theme. One thing to remember is to decorate outside by your driveway. You can tie balloons to your mailbox or put a sign in your yard. This way people who haven’t been to your home, until now, will know they have found the right place.

You can use whimsical party decorations such as a huge inflated or plastic engagement ring. A humorous decoration is a plastic ball and chain. You also want to have a collage or picture album that represents the couple.

You can contact members of both sides of the family and get pictures from their childhood up to the present and make a decorative scrapbook that will become a cherished keepsake. You can also make a collage that can be placed on the wall.

Party Favors

You will want to have party favors for all your guests to remember this happy occasion. They don’t have to be expensive; it is the thought that counts. You can also give out party favors that have been personalized with the happy couple’s image. You can get their image put on things such as key rings, coasters and magnets.

The favors can be anything that you want to give your guests as they leave, so they will always remember this happy occasion. You can give small gifts such as candles, chocolates or bath soaps. There are an endless number of choices to fit the theme of your engagement party and your budget.

Party Games

Party games are a great icebreaker and will help your guests relax and get to know one another. There are many games that can be played. These games usually involve asking questions about the bride and groom and seeing who answers the most questions correctly. If you search online you will find plenty of games to be enjoyed at your engagement party.

You can hand out prizes to the winners of your games. They don’t have to be expensive and can relate to your party theme. Items such as candles and picture frames are excellent for prizes for the winners. Just use your imagination and you will find the perfect item to buy.

No matter who gives the engagement party, it is a time to celebrate the happy couple and their new lives together as a couple.
